JEONJU lab focuses on the project completion of the one in the pre-production stage by providing a total of ten projects with KRW 5 million for development and mentorship. Depending on the developments after the mentoring, the additional support will be given with KRW 20 million and necessary support in-kind aiding to complete the project. 10 projects were selected in the JEONJU lab from 100 applicants.
This year while the majority of projects deal with traditional subjects, such as social justice, class, wealth, and violence, some projects work out susceptive sensitivity about minorities with brilliant imagination with a wider spectrum of genres. Especially, the projects about the life direction of the young generation and new types of relationships stand out.
In JEONJU lab 2022 will not run a pitching showcase, it will enhance the mentoring programs at the development stage in order to focus more on filmmakers and projects.
