Work In Progress is a post-production consulting program supporting the final stages of Korean independent feature films. It aims to improve the final quality of the films and promote their domestic and international distribution.
During the JEONJU Project period, selected films undergo private screenings for domestic and international industry professionals, including renowned film festival programmers. These screenings are followed by feedback and consulting sessions. Additionally, a selected film from the screenings will be awarded a distribution support grant of 5 million Korean Won.
To ensure documentary films receive genre-specific support, those selected from the Work In Progress program will participate in the Rough Cut Monitoring program, in partnership with K-DOC CLASS, operated by JEONJU IFF and SJM Cultural Foundation for tailored and systematic assistance for documentaries.
Since its selection as the best film in the 15th Work In Progress, MIMANG (KIM Taeyang) has been invited to various international film festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival, Mar Del Plata, attracting attention from the industry. Also, all three films selected for Work in Progress last year, MIMANG, My Missing Aunt (YANG Juyeon), and Blanket Wearer (PARK Jeongmi), came up with a remarkable achievement to compete at the Korean Competition section at the 25th JEONJU IFF this year.
