Work-in-Progress
Work-in-Progress is a post-production support program aimed at enhancing the final quality of Korean independent feature films and facilitating their Korean and international distribution.
During the JEONJU Project period, selected films are screened privately in a cinema for industry professionals, including renowned international film festival programmers. These screenings are followed by feedback and consultation sessions to help further refine the films. Additionally, one film will be selected through a jury deliberation to receive a distribution support grant of 5 million Korean Won.
MIMANG directed by Kim Taeyang, which was selected as the best film in the 2023 Work-in-Progress, went on to receive invitations from major international film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival and the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, gaining industry recognition.
Additionally, the 2024 Work-in-Progress selections have also achieved remarkable milestones. Red Nails directed by Hwang Seulgi, and Mother′s Household Ledger directed by Sung Seungtaek premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, Pull directed by Lee Soojung, premiered at the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, and A WATER[S] directed by Kim Kyung-rae had its world premiere at the Seoul Independent Film Festival.
