A smiling woman
Mijeong is sick and tired of her situation and people. Then, she meets warm and innocent person, Yeon.
Kindergarten teacher ‘Mijeong’ gets a new job in a small provincial town after she is fired due to misunderstanding at her kindergarten. Since she forgets how to smile and struggles to settle in, a teaching assistant named ‘Yeon’ tries to help her at the kindergarten. Thanks to Yeon, Mijeong adjusts to her new environment and becomes warmhearted.
Meanwhile, Mijeong comes up against other teachers at the kindergarten who mistreat Yeon. As a result, both Mijeong and Yeon become ostracized.
After the director interferes, Mijeong tries to connect with other teachers and keeps back from Yeon because she cannot lose her job again. Because of that, Yeon becomes a loner.
As the relationships among Mijeong, Yeon, and the other teachers have been changed, the atmosphere of the kindergarten becomes more desolate. Eventually, Yeon takes full responsibility and gets kicked out of the kindergarten.
Yeon comes to Mijeong to resolve the misunderstanding. But Mijeong refuses Yeon a favor.
And before long, Mijeong realizes that Yeon is disappeared. Mijeong finally realizes that her selfishness has changed Yeon’s life. Recalling Yeon’s last call that Mijeong did not receive, she starts to chase her trail.
We live in a harsh world with no expectations in relationships or love for others. We are busy looking out for ourselves. Is it okay to go on like this? This film depicts how an encounter with someone warm and pure transforms a woman who would have otherwise remained wounded. Through her journey towards recovery, I want you to think about disappearing humanity and value of love.
