DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

Our daily lives seem to be always in the same place, but they are constantly torn down and rebuilt like the changing urban landscape under construction every day. Small changes add up, and although many things may change, some things remain the same. Within these moments, we move toward somewhere new through repetitions and differences.

INTERVIEW
What inspired you to start this project?
I’ve always been intrigued by Jongno in Seoul, which is a mixture of all the history from the Joseon Dynasty, the Japanese occupation, the 1970s and 80s, and the present day. One day, I realized that Jongno was changing, and this inspired me to start a project to capture Jongno today.
Is there any scene or emotion you want the audience to remember after watching this movie?
While the film focuses on the separated lovers, the background they pass by is also a metaphor for their feelings and history. I want the audience to remember the backgrounds together, and to recall the emotions and memories they had in their own spaces.
