LOGLINE

An actor travels to the southernmost city in the world to star in a film. She discovers the life of inhabitants and landscapes.

SYNOPSIS

The actor and director, María Alché travels to the southernmost city in the world, Puerto Williams, to star in a film, but the film crew will take a week to arrive, due to a strong storm. Alone, in an unknown place, she seeks help for a strong back pain that afflicted her during the trip. Little by little, she discovers the life and the fascinating landscapes of the inhabitants in conversations. In expressive terms, this film deals with three main concepts. The first is a photographic treatment that reveals the great snowy landscapes of Puerto Williams and that draws a human being in symbiosis with nature. The second is the quality of “dialogues,” simple, every day that express emotions and thoughts. And third, the economy of media. A camera that observes and “chooses” brief moments and gestures that express a lot from simple actions.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

With this project I would like to 'live' and translate the stories we are telling into images and sounds. Its depth and dissonances develop in our heads simply by observing them. This film is constructed from observations and concrete actions and prepared with narrative resources such as the leading actress, the trip, the meetings, etc., but it will also be a visual and sound experience. A spectrum of passages that resonate with all the other landscapes that are now crowded on the planet and that are slowly disappearing: empty landscapes, full, fascinating, frightening, dead, alive, abstract. A landscape of an uncertain future.
