August, Again
On the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing, we follow Han Jeong-sun, a second-generation Korean survivor
Han Jeong-sun is currently leading an international justice movement group in Korea to secure medical support for her son’s genetic mutation disease caused by his exposure to the atomic bomb in Hiroshima in 1945. The Hapcheon Peace House is comprised mainly of the second-generation Korean atomic bomb victims’ group, which seeks to protect the lives of the hibakusha and their descendants to seek social recognition.
August, Again goes beyond simply documenting a past tragedy, it seeks to convey a message for the present and the future. In a world where nuclear tensions persist and technological advances create new ethical dilemmas, understanding nuclear consequences has never been more important. We also aim to reflect on the contemporary significance of historical events and to foster dialogue on the ethical, political and humanitarian challenges we face today.
